No-one wants to see a loved one suffer, especially when there is little or no hope of recovery. Should individuals be able to decide when they want to die? Should families be allowed to make this decision on behalf of the individual? Should doctors be allowed to help in administering a relatively painless "way out"? Or should the chronically ill be kept alive at any cost, no matter how much pain is involved for the individual and his or her loved ones? This book sheds light on this very delicate and diffcult issue.
