Hamlet, the son of the Danish queen Gertrude and the deceased King Hamlet, believes that his father was murdered by his uncle Claudius who has ceased King Hamlet's empire and married Queen Gertrude upon his father's death. Having encountered his father's ghost, Prince Hamlet disguised himself as a madman in attempt to avenge his father, while Claudius has incessantly conspired against him.
