An electric eel has three pairs of abdominal organs that produce electricity.
These organs are the main organ, the Sach’s organ and Hunter’s organ. These organs have the ability to generate two types of electric discharges: low voltage and high voltage discharge.
An electric eel discharges electricity to hunt prey and for self-protection. The electric current it discharges not only electrocutes small animals but can also kill large animals such as cattle and horses.
