The willow tree is a native plant of China. It is also found all over the northern hemisphere of Europe, Asia and North America.
Willow trees grow well in areas where the climate is temperate and cool with enough sunlight and water. Some willow tree species can tolerate very cold weather conditions and poor alkaline soil. Most willow trees can survive for as long as 20 to 30 years although some species have survived for more than 100 years.
